Production

Production of fruit and vegetables

Compagnie Fruitière has developed its production in Africa and Latin America over the years. The Group’s farms now cover 12,000 hectares distributed across Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon and Ecuador, and produce more than 500,000 tons of various and varied fruits and vegetables: bananas, cherry tomatoes, corn, pineapple and even the pepper well known as Penja pepper and more recently cocoa and chocolate.

However, bananas remain Compagnie Fruitière’s major product. Bananas are grown organic soils as far as possible and very largely on fair trade labelled land, which makes it the world’s leading producer of fair trade bananas in certified hectares. Fair trade (under the Fairtrade Max Havelaar label) and organic farming are the two of Compagnie Fruitière’s strategic policies in relation to respect for the environment and individuals.
